Electronic Technician
Job Description:
This is a mid-level RF Communications Technician position which is responsible for installation, repair and maintenance of Navy Communications Systems and antenna systems.
CRCI is one of the leading providers of skilled trades for new construction and shipyard repair work. CRCI is seeking a Naval Communications Electronic Technician with specialized experience in applying electronics engineering theories related to the design, installation, and maintenance of complex electronic systems ashore and afloat such as; LF/MF/HF/UHF communications transmitters, receivers, antennas, towers and associated ground systems; microwave link equipment and antennas; common antenna configuration (single-wire to complex arrays)
Position Specific Skills:
Must have 5 years previous experience with Naval Communications Systems
Must have a solid understanding of logical and systematic troubleshooting techniques
Must have an excellent command of computers and software used in modern radio communications for systems control and equipment programming
Must be familiar with the use of multi meters and associated radio/electronics test equipment, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, RF power meters and others
Must be able to install, maintain and repair HF/VHF/UHF radio equipment and systems
Must be familiar with electronics equipment cabling and standard installation wiring practices
Must be familiar with radio antenna systems, TDR and VSWR readings
Must be familiar with L-band and C-band satellite communications systems
Must be able to install and test new communications systems
Qualifications
Prior Navy Shipboard Communications experience
Must be willing to work any shift available
HS education or Trade School or Navy C-School
Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces
Able to perform other duties ans required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels
May require wearing a respirator
Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States
