Quality Assurance Inspector
Job Description:
This is a Quality Assurance Inspector position for our Naval Ship and Shipyard production, installation and fabrication work areas.
This position performs inspections; evaluations; and measurements for products, components, processes, and operations. Utilize appropriate tools, equipment, and techniques in accordance with assigned tasks and personal qualifications. Applicable techniques and qualifications may include; visual inspections, non-destructive tests, dimensional inspections, comparative evaluations, assessments of compliance with specifications, and operation of inspection instruments and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing Corporate ISO QAS and Safety policies and procedures for all areas of operations.
Position Specific Skills:
Carry out routine inspection ( in process and final ) of production, installation and fabrication work
Ensure complete traceability of all incoming materials
Ensure identification and traceability of all finished products and services in the yard
Carry out regular welding audits, procedure qualifications, welder performance qualification
Liaise with Program Managers, Supervisors and customers
Develop Quality procedures, Method Statements, Inspection Plans IAW CRCI ISO QAS
Carry out Internal Audits in line with the CRCI Corporate QMS
Ensure the implementation and compliance of the CRCI QMS and Safety Procedures
Qualifications
Education GED / Diploma
Minimum 5 years of experience as QA / QC Inspector in ship yard / dry dock/Naval Maritime environment
Fully conversant with Ship Terminology / Classification / NAVSEA Standard Items / Cable ways
Fully conversant with ASME and NAVSEA codes for welding
Thorough knowledge about welding processes like SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, SAW
Excellent communication skills, good command over written and spoken English, computer literate, good report writing skills
Exposure to ISO 9001 Quality Management systems, internal audits
Exposure to Safety and Environmental Management Systems
