With the greater emphasis on reduced manning, waterline security and anti-terrorism, comprehensive surveillance of military ships by way of a robust CCTV system is a vital function.

CRCI has teamed up with Kongsberg Maritime, who is a world leader in the design and manufacture of integrated video solutions for harsh environments. KONGSBERG CCTV and video systems are in service with many Special Forces and Security Specialists around the world.

Amphibious Low-Light Surveillance System (ALLSS)

Description

CRCI has successfully completed the design and installation off the only four fully operational ALLSS systems on the East Coast. The Kongsberg Maritime Amphibious Low-Light Surveillance System is a multi-drop, low light capable, TV camera system with telemetry control via RS485 serial protocol in service on US Navy LHA/LHD Class and LSD/LPD Class Amphibious Ships.

For US Navy LHA/LHD Class ships the system is configured with 29 cameras in total, 8 Control & Viewing Stations and a Master Control Unit . For the smaller LSD/LPD Class upgrades the common modules are re-configured as a 23 camera, 6 Control & Viewing Stations, 1 Master Control Unit system.

Five different camera types are used with each system for Above and Below Decks monitoring. The Above Decks cameras - Low-Light PTZ (Pan, Tilt and Zoom), Low-Light TRZ (Tilt, Rotate and Zoom) and Low-Light Fixed Cameras - are housed within nitrogen purged, stainless steel housings and use high resolution monochrome sensors capable of operating from full daylight down to quarter moonlight. The Below Decks machinery space cameras - PTZ and Fixed Cameras - are based around the latest color CCD sensors ideally suited for use in the ambient lighting conditions in these areas.

The Control & Viewing Stations consist of a high resolution SXGA TFT LCD display and an intuitive and easy to use telemetry control keyboard. Stations fitted in compartments overlooking the flight decks are Night Vision Device (NVD) compatible.

At the heart of the system the Master Control Unit houses the main control units and a 16 channel digital video recorder that allows archiving of video to various media. Quad camera views can be directed to any of the viewing stations in the ship and interfaces are also provided to the ship's entertainment TV system.

All equipment is qualified to meet the stringent requirements of MIL-STD-901D 'Hammer' shock test as well as MIL-STD-461F EMI.

DVR- Digital Video Recorder

The Smartview AVS DVR is a pc based DVR running on Windows XP with emergency disk recovery. It features support of up to 32 cameras, scalable MPEG-4/ h.264 compression, Motion Detection, Audio Detection, Constant Recording, and Priority Recording Modes, PTZ control with up to 32 PTZ presets, Remote Management Software, display and record data from up to 8 cash registers with optional POS.

NVR- Network Video Recorder

The Smartview AVS NVR is a pc based NVR which utilizes network cameras. This allows the system to be set up and run from a remote location through the use of up to 32 network enabled cameras. The NVR offers all the same features as the DVR aside from the cameras, such as scalable MPEG-4/ h.264 compression, Motion Detection, Audio Detection, Constant Recording, and Priority Recording Modes, PTZ control with up to 32 PTZ presets, Remote Management Software, display and record data from up to 8 cash registers with optional POS.
